Am I cursed? What I usually find when someone asks me

Am I Cursed? Reading by Ivy Veil: Ivy with tarot cards by candlelight

It usually arrives quietly, often at the end of a long message, as if the person writing is a little ashamed to ask. The car broke down, then the job fell through, then the relationship ended, all in one season. There was a dream that would not leave. Someone said something sharp at a family party and it has been sitting in the chest ever since. Or a stranger online, unasked, told them there is something on them, a dark cloud, a curse, and that it can be lifted for a fee. And so the question comes: am I cursed?

I want to answer that as honestly as I can, because I have sat with a great many people who were frightened of exactly this, and what I have found may surprise you.

What I usually find

Most of the time, it is not a curse. It is a weight with a name. Very often it is a person: someone close who drains you, criticises you or keeps you slightly off balance, so that you walk around braced for the next blow. Sometimes it is grief that never had room to be felt, a loss that got pushed aside because life had to go on. Sometimes it is fear that somebody else put in your hands, which is exactly what a stranger does when they tell you that you are cursed. And very often it is simply a hard season, in which everything went wrong at once, and a tired mind that began to read every broken glass as a sign.

None of that makes it small. A weight with a name can press just as hard as anything mysterious. But it changes what helps, and the good news is that what helps is almost always within your own reach.

Now and then, when I sit with someone, I do feel something heavy around them that seems to come from outside: resentment, envy, a very strong wish from someone that things would go badly. When I feel that, I say so, plainly. And I tell them the same thing every time: it has only the power you give it, and the ways to put it down are old, simple and yours.

The signs people send me

People often list the signs they have read about online: a run of bad luck, feeling heavy or tired all the time, nightmares, arguments at home, things breaking, plans that fall through one after another. I understand why those lists frighten people. But read them again, slowly, and you will notice that they also describe an ordinary hard year. Almost everyone has lived through one.

One thing I want to say very clearly. If your body is sending signals, such as headaches, sleeplessness, pain or exhaustion that will not lift, please take them to your doctor first. They are not spiritual signs, and they deserve real care. The same goes for feeling low for weeks on end: please talk to your doctor or someone you trust. A reading can go beside that, never instead of it.

The oldest trick there is

If someone has told you that you are cursed and then offered to remove it, please read this part twice. Frightening a person and then selling them the way out is one of the oldest tricks in the world, and it has not changed much in a few hundred years. The curse is found before you asked. The removal costs money, and then a little more money, because the work is "not finished yet". You are told that something terrible will happen if you stop, or that you must keep it secret, or that you should hand over jewellery or cash to be cleansed.

A real reader never needs you scared to do their work. If anyone asks you for more money to finish lifting a curse, stop paying, and do not let it frighten you. Nothing bad happens to people who walk away from that. It is the kindest thing you can do for yourself.

How people have always protected themselves

People have feared the curse for as long as there have been quarrels, and for just as long they have known how to stand against it without paying anyone over and over. In Greece and Turkey a blue glass eye, the nazar, still hangs by doorways to turn a hard look away. In the Scottish Highlands a twig of rowan was tied with red thread above the door. Almost everywhere, salt was laid along the threshold. None of these were ever about fighting back. They were about saying: this is my home, and what is not welcome stays outside.

You can do the same, at home, with what you already have. Open every window for a while and let the air move through. Sweep from the back of the house towards the front door, and out. Put a pinch of salt on the windowsill beside your bed. Then stand with both feet on the floor, put a hand on your chest and say, in the present tense: What is mine stays with me. What is not, I put down. It sounds small. Do it for a week and notice how differently you stand.

If you would like me to look

If the question will not leave you, I will look for you, and I will tell you the truth. That is what my Am I Cursed? Reading is for. I read from your name, your date of birth and your own words about what has been happening, and I begin with the answer you came for, in plain words: whether I feel anything sent your way, and what I feel you are really carrying. Then, depending on the depth you choose, where the heaviness seems to come from, how to clear it yourself, and the signs that it is lifting. It is in your inbox within the hour during my active hours, from €3.33, and I check in with you afterwards.

One promise from me: I will never tell you that you are cursed in order to sell you a removal. I do not sell removals at all. If what you need after your reading is to feel clear and held, the Protection Spell & Aura Cleanse is there, and if one person is the weight, the Toxic Person Protection Spell puts a shield between you. Everything I do for protection is together on my protection page.

Questions people ask me about curses

Am I cursed?

In my experience, most people who ask are not. What feels like a curse is usually a weight with a name: a draining person, grief, a fear someone planted, or a hard season. If you want an honest look, my Am I Cursed? Reading is written for exactly that.

What are the signs of a curse?

The lists online, such as bad luck, tiredness, nightmares and arguments, describe a hard year just as well as a curse. Physical symptoms and long low moods belong with your doctor first. If the question stays with you, a calm, honest reading is a better next step than fear.

Can a curse be removed?

I do not sell curse removals, and I would be careful with anyone who does, especially if they told you about the curse first. What helps is clearing what you carry and strengthening your own boundary, and much of that you can do at home.

Someone asked me for money to remove a curse. What should I do?

Stop paying, and do not let it frighten you. Being told you are cursed and then offered the way out, for a fee, is one of the oldest tricks there is. Nothing bad happens to people who walk away from it.

Can you tell if someone wishes me harm?

I can tell you what I feel around you, honestly. I will not feed a fear or name enemies for you. If I feel something heavy coming from someone, I say so plainly and I tell you how to stand steady. If you feel unsafe in real life, please contact the police or a helpline first.

Go gently with yourself. Whatever this season has been, you are not marked, and you are stronger than it has made you feel.
