I am Ivy, and friendship is one of the quiet wishes on my table. The move to a city where nobody knows your name yet. The friend who stopped answering. The group where you laugh along and still feel outside. When you order a friendship spell, I hold your wish at my table the same day, and write to you about what I noticed and where your people seem to be waiting.
Many of you found my friendship spell in my Etsy shop. Etsy no longer lists spells like this one, so it lives here now, at the same table, held the same way.
What is a friendship spell?
A friendship spell is an intention for connection, held with full attention for one person: your name and your wish on paper, a candle, and words spoken aloud as if they are already true. It works on your side of every friendship that has ever begun: the openness in your face, the courage to say yes, the small choices that put you in the right room on the right evening.
It never makes anyone like you. Another person's heart is theirs, and I would never try to move it for you. What a friendship spell does is make you easier to find, and give the good people already near you a reason to stay.

A new city, a new country, a new job. Everyone seems to have their people already, and the weekends are long. I hold the right people crossing your path, and you saying yes when they do.

No fight, or a small one that grew. You miss them, and you do not know if they miss you. I hold the door open and the air between you softer; walking through it stays the choice of you both.

You are invited, and still you feel on the edge of it. I hold your place in the circle, and the ease to be fully yourself in it.

You have friends, but not the kind who ask how your day really was. I hold the deeper friendships finding you: the ones who feel like home.
What happens at my table
Your name and your date of birth go on paper in my handwriting, with your wish beneath it in your own words. A pink candle is lit for you, a piece of rose quartz rests beside it, and a drop of honey goes on the paper, so that what comes to you comes sweetly. If the wish is about one friendship, a sprig of rosemary joins them, for remembering what was good. Then I speak your intention aloud in the present tense, as if it is already so, and I stay with that feeling until it is whole.
Your report arrives the same day, written for you alone: what I noticed, where your warmth was already reaching people, what was holding you back, and one sentence to carry with you for the moment before you walk into a room. Friendship has always had its rituals
People have always made a ceremony of turning a stranger into a friend. Across much of Eastern Europe a guest is still welcomed with bread and salt. German students in the sixteenth century carried a friendship book, an album amicorum, and asked every friend they made along the way to write in it. At Izumo Taisha in Japan, people pray for en-musubi, the tying of good connections, and that means friends as much as partners. And the United Nations even gave friendship its own day, 30 July.
I like knowing that when I light a pink candle for your wish, I stand in that long line of people who thought friendship was worth a ritual.
What a friendship spell cannot do
It cannot make someone like you, choose you or come back to you, and I will never tell you it can. I do not bind anyone, and I do not work against anyone's free will. If someone asks you for more money afterwards to "finish the work", walk away: a spell that needs a second payment was never finished.
What it can do is open you up, and hold the right people and moments near. If loneliness has become very heavy, please also tell someone you trust, or a professional; my spell goes alongside that, never instead of it. And if your report did not land the way you hoped, tell me within seven days and I put it right.
Your part, and it is the strongest part
For one week, write down not names but what your friends will be like: kind, funny, the ones who ask how your day really was. Keep the paper beside a candle or a piece of rose quartz, where you see it every day.
Then do one thing each day that a person with a full life of friends would do. Say yes to the invitation you would normally skip. Send the first message. Go back to the class, the choir or the walking group a second time, because the second time is when people remember you. Two people holding one clear picture pull harder than one, and your own choices remain the strongest force there is.
