I am Ivy, and the weather spell is what people know me for. Weddings found me first, but they were never the only days that mattered. A birthday in the garden, a proposal by the sea, an anniversary picnic, a graduation on the lawn, a festival weekend, the party you have been planning for months: every one of those days matters to someone as much as a wedding does, and I hold the sky for all of them.

What is a weather spell?

A weather spell is an intention for kind weather over one day and one place, held through ritual: the name of your day on paper, a bowl of clear water, a candle, and the picture of a bright, gentle sky spoken aloud as if it is already there. Mine are held at my table on the day you order, with a written report the same day.

The picture I hold is always the same at heart: warm light over the place you chose, a soft breeze, and everyone there at ease, looking up instead of at their phones. What changes is the day itself, and I give every one of them my full attention.

What happens at my table

1. You tell me about your day

   Your first name, the date and the place, what you are celebrating and the moment that matters most. One true detail makes it warmer: who will be there, what you are hoping to see when you look up.

2. I hold your day the same day

   Your day goes on paper in my handwriting. Beside it lie a bowl of clear water, a piece of sunstone for the light and a bay leaf for the flame. I hold the picture of your day in sunshine, warm and easy, as if it has already happened, and I stay with it until it feels whole.

3. I write to you

   Your report arrives the same day, written for your event alone: what I felt around your day, what the flame and the water showed me, and one sentence to say when you look up.

4. And I stay with you

   Afterwards I check in with you, you receive my small guide After Your Reading, and my door stays open: you can always reply to my e-mail, and I read it and answer you myself.

Asking the sky for kindness is very old

People have always made a small gesture towards the sky before a day that mattered. In Japan, children still make a teru teru bozu, a little doll of white paper or cloth, and hang it by the window the day before a school trip, a sports day or a picnic, to ask for sunshine. In Spain, couples and their families bring a dozen eggs to the convent of the Poor Clares and ask Saint Clare for a clear day, because her name and the light belong together. Sailors whistled softly for a fair wind, and farmers watched the sky before every harvest feast.

Under all of them sits the same simple idea I work with: picture the day you want as if it is already here, feel it, and you begin to draw it towards you. That is the law of attraction, and it is the oldest part of every weather custom there is. I just do it for one day at a time, on purpose, and with my whole attention.
