Regret spell: why I will not make anyone regret, and what I do instead

Reconciliation Spell by Ivy Veil: Ivy in white at her table with candles and dried flowers

Every week someone finds me by typing two words into a search bar: regret spell. Sometimes the message that follows is angry, and sometimes it is only very tired. He left, and he seems fine. She said things that cannot be unsaid, and she has moved on as if nothing happened. And the wish underneath is always the same: I want them to feel what I feel. I want them to know what they lost.

I understand that wish completely, and I want to answer it honestly, because I think you deserve better than someone who takes your money and promises you revenge.

Why I do not cast regret spells

A regret spell, the way it is usually sold, is meant to make someone suffer until they come back, or simply suffer. I do not do that, for anyone, not even for someone who hurt you badly. Not because I do not believe you. Because of what it does to you.

What you hold in your mind with feeling, you draw towards you. That is the heart of every spell I cast, and it is also the heart of the law of attraction. If you spend your nights picturing their pain, you are spending your nights inside it. Pain does not bring people back in a way that lasts, and a person who returns out of misery is not the person you were hoping for. The one who pays most for a regret spell is usually the one who ordered it.

What regret is really asking for

When I sit with the people who ask me for this, I almost never find cruelty. I find hurt that has nowhere to go. Under the wish for regret there is usually one of three quieter wishes: to be seen, to be missed, or to be free. Each of those can be held, and none of them needs anyone to suffer.

If you want to be seen, what helps is your own dignity back: standing straight in your own life, so that whoever looks can see what was always there. If you want to be missed, what helps is a door held open, warm and unforced, in case they are also ready to walk back through it. And if what you really want is to be free, what helps is letting the tie go from your side, so that their choices stop running your days.

What I hold instead

For the door held open there is my Reconciliation Spell, for an ex, a family member or a friend. Your name beside theirs, the two names facing each other, a little honey and a candle, and your side of the bond softened. It never works on their will. Whether they walk through the door stays their choice, and that is exactly why it holds.

For freedom there is the Cord Cutting Spell, which releases the tie from your side, without harming or binding anyone. And for your own dignity and warmth, the Self-Love Spell holds the way you see yourself. If you mostly want to understand what happened, the Ex & Silence Reading reads the silence, and you first.

Your part, and it is the strongest part

Write down everything you wish they would feel. All of it, as sharp as it needs to be. Then read it back and, beside each line, write what you would feel if they did: seen, missed, safe, free. Cross out the first column. Keep the second.

For one week, light a candle each evening and read the second column aloud, in the present tense: I am seen. I am free. It is the oldest kind of spell there is, and it is the only one that is entirely in your hands. Your own choices remain the strongest force there is.

What comes back to my table

"Thank you for the elaboration and insights! I feel alot lighter and empowerment was also included within her words. Things are said clearly and I knew how to proceed now. Thank you~"

Riocain, September 2026

"She is responsive and each response is thoughtful, providing a sense of clarity and relief that you didn't have before."

Lighter, clearer, knowing how to proceed. That is what I want for you, whatever they choose.

Questions people ask me about regret spells

What is a regret spell?

A spell meant to make someone regret leaving or hurting you. I do not cast them: I never wish pain on anyone. What I hold instead is your side: your dignity, a door held open, or a clean way out.

Can a spell make my ex regret leaving?

No honest spell can make another person feel something. What a reconciliation spell can do is soften your side and hold the door open. Whether they walk through it is always their choice.

Can a reconciliation spell bring someone back?

It cannot bring anyone back against their will, and I would never try. It warms the bond and makes the first step easier for you both, if they are also ready.

What if I just want to stop thinking about them?

Then the Cord Cutting Spell is where I would begin. It releases the tie from your side, so that their choices stop taking up your days.

What if they hurt me or frightened me?

Then reconciliation is not what I would hold for you. Please keep your distance, talk to someone you trust, and contact the police or a helpline if you feel unsafe. Your safety comes first, always.

Everything I do for reconciliation is on my reconciliation page.

Go gently. You are allowed to want to be missed, and you are allowed to be free.
