After what do you actually do?, this is the question I am asked most. Sometimes shyly, sometimes with a raised eyebrow, and always by someone who deserves a straight answer. So here it is, from someone who has done this work every day for a long time.
In short: an Etsy spell is intention work, offered as a service. Someone takes your wish, your name and your own words, holds them with full attention in a ritual, usually a candle, paper and words spoken aloud, and then writes to you about it. No honest witch can promise you an outcome, and on Etsy no one is allowed to. What a good spell does is put one clear intention into focused, felt, spoken form, with a second person holding it beside you. In my experience that changes things: how you feel, what you notice, what you dare, and very often what happens next. More than 2,000 happy customers have sat at my table. Here is what that means, what it does not mean, and how to choose a witch you can trust.
What is an Etsy spell, exactly?
A spell, in my hands, is an intention held with full attention for one person. Your name and your wish go on paper. A candle is lit. The intention is spoken aloud in the present tense, as if it is already so, and felt in the body the way you will feel it on the day it arrives. Then I write down what I noticed while I held it, and that becomes your report.
That is the whole of it, and it is a great deal. Most people never give their own wish that much undivided attention. They worry about it, scroll past it, mention it to a friend and change the subject. A spell does the opposite: it sits with the wish until it is clear, and it says it out loud.
What a spell is not: a vending machine, a guarantee, or a replacement for the doctor, the lawyer, the weather app or the job application. Since 2015 Etsy's rules have said that sellers may not promise that what they sell will "effect a physical change or other outcome". That is why honest listings say "for entertainment purposes". Not because the work is a joke, but because no one can sell you a result. Anyone who claims to is not being honest with you.
So, do Etsy spells work?
Here is what I believe, after more than 2,000 names at my table. Words have power, and emotions have power, and when the two meet, something happens that I can only describe as a field. It is the same ground the law of attraction stands on: what you picture with feeling, as if it is already yours, you draw towards you. A spell is that picture made clear, spoken and felt, by you and by me at once. Two people holding one clear picture pull harder than one.
What moves most reliably is you. People write to me that they slept properly for the first time in weeks, that they walked into the room calm, that they stopped checking the forecast every hour and started enjoying their own wedding week. Their choices changed, and their own choices remain the strongest force there is. And then, often enough that I stopped being surprised long ago, the outside world answers too: the forecast turns, the message comes, the door opens.
Honesty belongs here as well. Not everything moves, and nothing moves on anyone's timetable. Some intentions answer within days, some take months, and some answer in a way nobody expected. That is why I promise no outcome. I promise my full attention, a report written for you alone, and that I will still be there afterwards.
What people write back
I would rather show you than tell you. Every review on my site is quoted word for word from Etsy, first names only. These are four of them.
"It worked less than a week after the spell was cast. I highly recommend ❤️"
Glück, August 2026
"I don't know what I expected but immediately loved what I received, a thoughtful and calming message and unbelievably the weather was perfect despite the forecast! (Umbrellas were left at the ceremony)"
Florence, September 2026
"I knew instantly how much I aligned with Ivy and the energy did not miss! The spell was spot on and she checked in between, and it was great to share what we had both felt and noticed. She is so authentic and has wonderful energy and intentions! Would 100% reccomend and will continue to shop with her x"
Laura, September 2026
"… I also appreciated that the reading didn't feel fear-based or pushy, but instead focused on encouragement, intention, and moving forward with confidence."
Dana, September 2026

How to choose an Etsy witch you can trust
Whether you come to me or to someone else, this is what I would look for.
- Read the words in the reviews, not only the stars. Look for detail, for recent dates, and for people who came back. A real reading leaves people specific.
- A clear description of what actually happens. What is done, when it is done, and what you will receive. If a listing is all atmosphere and no substance, ask.
- No guarantees. "100% guaranteed results" is the clearest sign that someone is not being straight with you.
- No fear. Nobody honest tells you that you are cursed, that something dark is attached to you, and that it will cost three hundred euros to lift it. Fear is a sales technique, not a reading.
- No pressure to buy more. One good ritual is enough. Be wary of "level two" and "level three" upsells, or urgency that arrives the moment you have paid.
- They want your own words. A name alone is not enough to hold an intention well. A good witch asks what you want, in your words, and one true detail about it.
- They answer, themselves. Send a message before you buy. The reply tells you a lot: the tone, the care, and whether a real person is on the other side.
- Aftercare. Someone who checks in afterwards cares how it went, not only that it sold.
And one red flag above all: a stranger who writes to you first, out of nowhere, to say they have seen something in your energy. A real reader waits to be asked.
Why spells are disappearing from Etsy
Etsy's rule about outcomes is old, but for years it was enforced loosely. Since late 2025 it has been applied far more strictly, and in 2026 many spell listings disappeared from the site. A lot of witches moved their rituals to their own websites. Mine are here now, at my own table, where I can describe them as they are: what I do, what I use, and what you receive.
Nothing else changed. Same candle, same care, same report, held the same day, seven days a week. And here you can write to me directly, as a real message, whenever you like. I answer every one myself.
How to get the most out of a spell, wherever you buy it
This part is yours, and it is the strongest part.
- Be specific. "Love" is a weather system. "A partner who texts back and means it" is an intention.
- Write it in your own words. Your words carry your feeling; mine only hold them.
- Feel it as already done. Each evening: a candle, a glass of water, and three slow breaths inside the day you are asking for. Then drink the water.
- Say thank you before it arrives. Gratitude is the portal to abundance. It tells your whole body the thing is already on its way.
- Take one step the person in that picture would take. Send the email. Book the venue. Answer the call.
- Stop checking. Hunting for proof every hour is doubt in disguise. Let it work.
Where to begin
If you know me from Etsy, you probably know the weather. The Good Weather Ritual for your wedding day is the one more than fifteen hundred brides, festival-goers and holidaymakers have trusted, and here is how I do it, step by step. If your question is work, this is how I hold a job spell; if it is love, my Love Reading is where most people begin. If you have a wish you have not said out loud, the Make a Wish Ritual holds up to three of them. And if what you need fits no box at all, the Custom Ritual begins with you telling me.
Questions people ask me about Etsy spells
Are Etsy spells real?
Real in the sense that matters: a real person sits down with your name and your intention and holds it in a ritual. Whether it changes your situation, no honest witch can promise. What it changes reliably is your focus, your feeling and your next step, and those change a great deal.
Is it safe to buy a spell on Etsy?
It can be, if you choose well. Read the reviews in full, avoid anyone who promises guaranteed results or tells you that you are cursed, and choose someone who answers your messages and checks in afterwards.
How long does a spell take to work?
There is no fixed timetable. Some intentions answer within days, some take weeks, and some answer in a way nobody expected. I hold rituals the same day you order, and your own part, each evening, keeps the picture strong while it moves.
Can a spell backfire?
Not the way I work. I only hold intentions for good, for you and never against anyone. There are no curses and no revenge at my table, so there is nothing to come back.
Why do spell listings say "for entertainment purposes"?
Because Etsy does not allow sellers to promise that a service will bring about an outcome, and because honestly no one can. It is not a joke; it is the truth about what anyone can guarantee.
Are you the same Etsy witch who does the weather spells?
Yes. Same table, same candle, same care. Weather is what the internet found first; work, love, home and money have been on my table just as long.
If you want to try, begin with the one that matches your question, or let the spell finder ask you one question and show you what I would hold.
Whoever you choose, choose someone who makes you feel stronger, not smaller.
Ivy
