You wrote it down. You made the vision board. You pictured it every day, felt the gratitude in advance, said the affirmations until you could say them in your sleep. And the money, the love, the new job or the home still has not come. Somewhere along the way a small, unkind voice started to whisper: maybe it works for other people, but not for you.
It does work for you. But in my experience, when a wish keeps stopping just short of someone, there is almost always something quietly standing in the doorway. Let me tell you what I find.
The short answer
Most manifestations stall because a part of you does not yet feel safe receiving what you are asking for. You want it with your whole heart, and an older part of you, shaped by past hurt or old family beliefs, is gently holding the door shut. Once you can see that part, you can thank it and let it step aside.
Older than any of us
The idea that thought shapes life is far older than the books on your shelf. The old proverb says that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he, and in 1903 the writer James Allen built a whole little book around it. In nineteenth-century America the New Thought writers taught that a steady, felt picture in the mind draws its likeness into the world, which is where the phrase law of attraction comes from.
And for just as long, people have known that you clear before you call in. In Scotland the house is cleaned from top to bottom before Hogmanay, so that the new year walks into a clean home. In China the floors are swept before the new year, and not on the day itself, so that the good luck is not swept out with the dust. Clearing comes first, and then there is room.
The blocks I see most often
An old story about worth. Somewhere you learned that good things have to be earned with suffering, or that wanting much is greedy. So when abundance comes close, it feels like something you have not deserved yet.
Loyalty to where you come from. If no one in your family ever had money, or a happy marriage, having it yourself can quietly feel like leaving them behind.
Fear of what it would change. A new job means new pressure. A great love means being seen. Part of you may be protecting you from the change that comes with the wish.
Checking too often. When you look every day for proof that it is working, you are telling yourself every day that it is not here yet. The energy responds to trust, not to watching.
What I do at my table
When someone asks me why a wish will not come, I take their one wish and follow their energy around it the way you would follow a stream upwards, until I find the place where it stops flowing. It is never the same twice. Sometimes it is a sentence a parent once said. Sometimes it is an old love that still holds a key. Sometimes it is simply exhaustion. I name it in plain words, and I give a way to release it, because a block you can see is a block you can move.
See it, feel it, draw it in
Before you picture your wish again, clear a small space for it. Choose one drawer, one shelf or one corner and empty it completely. Clean it, and leave it empty. Then sit nearby, close your eyes, and see your wish as already here, feeling the ease of it in your body. Say quietly: there is room for this now. Leave the space empty for a while, as an open invitation. You have made room on the outside, and you will notice it on the inside too.
What came back to my table
I am grateful for every word that comes back to me after a reading. These are two of them.
"I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders thank you!! Will come back soon"

"Ivy offered more than just a spell, she also offered great advise! Also she was very fast"

Questions people ask me about manifesting
Why is my manifestation not working?
Usually because a part of you does not yet feel safe receiving it: an old belief, a family pattern or a fear of change. Seeing that block is the first and biggest step.
Does the law of attraction really work?
What you hold in your mind with feeling shapes what you notice, what you choose and what you allow in. That is real, and it is powerful. It works best together with your own steps in the world.
How do I know what my block is?
Notice what you feel when you imagine your wish has come true. If there is any tightness, guilt or fear beside the joy, that is where to look. If you would like me to find it, my Manifestation Block Reading follows your energy around one wish.
Should I stop manifesting if it is not working?
No. Clear first, then call in again, with less checking and more trust. Many people find that things begin to move once they stop pushing against themselves.
Nothing is promised or guaranteed: this is spiritual guidance, alongside good advice and never instead of it. Your own choices remain the strongest force.
With love from my table,
Ivy
