What happens at my table
In my experience, Venus retrograde rarely brings back a person without bringing back a question as well. When someone writes to me in these weeks about an ex, the wish underneath is almost never "make him come back". It is "help me know what I want, and help me not lose myself while I find out". That is what this ritual holds.
Your name goes on paper beside a small mirror, the old sign of Venus, with a rose, a sprig of myrtle, her other flower, and a piece of rose quartz. A pink candle burns while I hold two pictures side by side: what has returned to you, seen clearly and without the old ache, and you, as you are now, worth exactly what you hoped. I watch the flame for which of the two pulls harder, and I stay until they rest side by side in calm.

People have watched Venus turn back for as long as they have watched the sky.
