One wish, spoken aloud as already given, on the eleventh of the eleventh: held at my table on Wednesday 11 November. Only this month.
Everyone has one wish they do not say out loud. Saying it makes it real, and so it stays in the drawer with the other things you were going to get to. On 11 November the drawer opens. Making a wish when the clock shows 11:11 is one of the youngest customs there is, and it stands on something very old: the wish spoken at a threshold. A first star, a coin in a well, a candle on a cake, the turn of the year. In the old farming calendar, 11 November closed the harvest year, and in many towns children still walk through the dark with lanterns that evening. At my table it is the day for the one wish that matters most, written in your own words and spoken as already true.
When
Held on Wednesday 11 November. Order until Tuesday 10 November; on the 11th this page closes, and the gate is not held again this year. Your report is in your inbox the day after, on the 12th.
What happens at my table
The eleventh of the eleventh is a date people have wished on for a long time, and I understand why: it looks like a doorway. I keep this ritual deliberately simple, one wish, because a single wish held fully is stronger than many held halfway.
On Wednesday 11 November your name and your date of birth go on paper at my table, with your one wish beneath it, exactly as you wrote it. It is laid in the light of a lantern, with a coin and a star of anise, the old signs of a wish made at a threshold, and I speak your wish aloud as already given. I stay with it until it feels received, and I watch the flame closely at the moment the wish is spoken.
Your report tells you what I noticed, what I worked with and why, how to receive it and what to leave alone.
See it, feel it, draw it in
Write your wish as if it is already true: "I have found", where you would normally write "I hope to find". See it in detail, feel what it is like to live inside it, and let that feeling be the last thing in your day. What you hold in your mind with feeling, you draw towards you like a magnet. That is the law of attraction, and it is the oldest part of every wishing custom there is. Say it out loud once before you type it. That is where it begins.
Keeping a wish alive
Because this is the ritual of the month, your report carries something extra: keeping a wish alive, a few small gestures to carry with you through the eleven days that follow, so that your wish stays warm. Nothing to print, nothing to buy; it is written into your report, in my words, for your wish.

What if I miss the 10th?
The page closes on the 11th and the gate is not held again this year. The Make a Wish Ritual is held every day, and your wish is welcome there.
Can my wish be about another person?
Your wish can include the people you love. I hold what you wish for your own life, and I never work on another person's will.
What can I expect, honestly?
