Perhaps you come home from work feeling like a sponge. Perhaps a person, a place or a chapter has left a residue you cannot quite name, and you find yourself saying yes when you mean no. You do not need to be afraid of anything to want to feel like yourself again. That is what this ritual is for. You may know it as a protection spell or an aura cleanse; at my table it is simply clearing, and strength.

People who come to me for protection often cannot say exactly what is wrong. They feel drained after certain rooms or certain people, heavy for no clear reason, not quite themselves in their own home. I have learned to take that seriously. What a person carries is not always theirs, and much of it can simply be put down.
So I hold two things for you: clearing and strength. Your name and your home go on my table inside a circle of salt, the air is cleared with sage smoke, and a white candle burns beside amethyst while I picture what is not yours lifting away and your own boundary standing firm and warm around you. I watch the smoke and the flame for what they show me, and I stay until the air around you feels clear.
